join gov. cox on Sept. 6 for the One Utah Health Collaborative signing
Gov. Spencer Cox has introduced a bold initiative called the “One Utah Health Collaborative.” Review the Collaborative Charter HERE. The Executive Committee of the BioUtah Board of Directors encourages our life sciences companies to consider participation in the Collaborative as it is relevant to our industry and affects all employers in every sector.
Ways in which to participate include:
- Sign the statewide pledge using this FORM prior to September 6.
- A worksheet provided by the Collaborative provides ways in which a company can approach their participation through the Pledge. View the Worksheet HERE. Then submit an activity plan using this form.
- Join Gov. Cox on September 6 at 10:00 AM for a signing event at the Utah State Capitol. This event was previously scheduled for July 15.
- Participate in various roundtable meetings sponsored by the Collaborative in the coming year.
- Support the Collaborative financially. The Collaborative will be seeking $2.3M in funding from the private sector each year. However, no financial commitment is required to participate.

Ranked according to their total five-year revenue and compound annual growth rate, these are the 2022 Utah Fast 50 honorees. They also highlight some emerging companies. New Liquid Embolic Multi-Center Trial Successfully Enrolls Final Patient
Fluidx Medical announces completion of trial enrollment for its novel embolic device, GPX. In this multi-center trial, GPX was used to treat a variety of primary and metastatic tumors, renal adenoma tumors, and a range of other arterial and venous applications.
"We are pleased to announce the enrollment of the final patient in the trial and look forward to participating in future trials using this promising technology," stated the trial’s principal investigator, Dr. Andrew Holden, M.D., MBChB, FRANZCR, EBIR, ONZM, director of interventional radiology, Auckland City Hospital, Auckland, New Zealand.

bioMérieux Announces First-Half 2022 Results
bioMériuex announced its results from the first half of 2022. Highlights included the following:
- €1,658 million in first-half 2022 sales, up 5.3% as published, stable on a like-for-like basis
- Q2 sales organic growth up 5.2% like-for-like, led by a strong growth of BIOFIRE® range as well as a good performance in clinical microbiology and industry applications
Alexandre Mérieux, chairman and CEO, said, “bioMérieux achieved a solid performance in the first half of 2022, in line with its expectations, both in terms of top line and profitability...Within a highly uncertain and inflationary environment, we do confirm our annual guidance, slightly adjusted upward. ”

DW Healthcare Partners Closes Sale of Med-Pharmex to Dechra Pharmaceuticals
Park City based DW Healthcare Partners has closed the sale of Med-Pharmex Holdings to Dechra Pharmaceuticals. Med-Pharmex is a leading, fully-integrated veterinary pharmaceutical manufacturer focused on developing, manufacturing, and commercializing animal health drugs.
“Med-Pharmex represents DWHP’s first investment in the animal health space, and since then, we have added three additional animal health investments to our portfolio.” said Andrew Carragher co-founder and managing partner. “Dechra is the perfect buyer for Med-Pharmex, and we look forward to watching the company continue to grow and scale under Dechra’s ownership.”

NON-DILUTIVE FUNDING: MONTHLY G2G REPORTING SERVICE WEBINARS
As previously announced, BioUtah has partnered with G2G, a Washington DC consulting firm, to track the announcement of government grants available for life sciences companies. G2G recently released their August report. Please click here to review that report.
Every third Friday of the month, G2G hosts an online event to give bioscience companies (i.e. therapeutics, diagnostics, medical device, digital health, etc.) the chance to learn about non-dilutive funding opportunities, such as grants and BAAs that could accelerate company growth. They share insights from their research and provide some Q&A during the first half hour. They then take a deeper dive on non-dilutive federal government funding sources and related priorities with consultation during the second half hour for our customers.
