BioUtah and its Utah consortium made their mark this week at the BIO International Conference, hosting a Utah Pavillion to promote the state’s fast-growing life sciences industry. The conference, held in San Diego, CA. drew appproximately 19,000 attendees. The Utah delegation included BioUtah, Utah companies, the Governor’s Office of Economic Development, the Unversity of Utah’s Technology Licensing Office, EDCUtah and the Utah World Trade Center. The Pavillion provided an exceptional opportunity to showcase Utah’s dynamic biotech community to a large audience from across the nation and worldwide. “The conference provided a venue to raise the profile of Utah’s growing pharma sector and tell our story,” said Kelvyn Cullimore, president and CEO of BioUtah. The sessions were enlightening and we were able to make connections that can benefit Utah companies and our industry as a whole.” BioUtah also engaged with the UK contingent at the conference, where conversations continued around executing on the Utah-UK Memorandum of Understaning (MOU) signed by Gov. Cox last year. The MOU specifically includes life sciences.
