In May, Spectrum Solutions was awarded the prestigious Best of State® award in the Science & Technology category for Medical Innovation. Spectrum received this honor for its SDNA-1000 Saliva Collection Device.
“At Spectrum Solutions, our focus is on creating forward-looking and scalable end-to-end solutions for applications such as clinical diagnostics and commercialized product plans.” said Bill Phillips, chief operations officer for Spectrum Solutions. “Our SDNA-1000 was born out of this innovative environment and since its launch it has had a global impact not only on testing for COVID-19, but also on how saliva can be used for testing of cancer, viruses and numerous other diseases and medical conditions. We are very grateful to have this Utah innovation be recognized and set apart with a Best of State award.”
“Spectrum’s saliva collection device has helped to transform COVID-19 testing,” said Kelvyn Cullimore, president and CEO of BioUtah. “This award not only recognizes their innovative technology, but it also recognizes the company’s on-going efforts to develop cutting-edge diagnostics.” Spectrum Solutions was the first to receive FDA authorization for a revolutionary “spit test” solution.
Spectrum Solutions was the first to receive FDA authorization and introduce a nation, in COVID-19 crisis, to a revolutionary “spit test” solution that not only challenged an entire industry’s standard diagnostic testing protocols, but pioneered a global industry shift favoring a safer, pain-free, and noninvasive bio-sample collection approach presenting an altogether better testing biomaterial.
The Best of State Awards were created in 2003 to recognize exceptional individuals, organizations and businesses in Utah.
