National Institutes of Health Accepts Late Grant Applications Given COVID-19 Emergency
April 3, 2020
On March 26, NIH announced that grant applications submitted late would continue to be accepted recognizing that the emergency declaration related to novel coronavirus (COVID-19) would “adversely affect many NIH applicants’ ability to submit applications in a timely manner.”
Specifically, all grant applications submitted late for due dates between March 9, 2020, and May 1, 2020, will be accepted through May 1, 2020. This extension applies to all relevant funding opportunity announcements, including those that indicate no late applications will be accepted. For Funding Opportunity Announcements that expire prior to May 1, 2020, NIH will extend the expiration date for 90 days to accommodate the submission of late applications. See the notice for further details.
