Nathan Tenney, Aide to Rep. Maloy Tours Utah Life Sciences Companies

January 29, 2026

Rep. Celeste Maloy’s (R-UT) legislative assistant for healthcare, Nathan Tenney, traveled to Salt Lake City this week from our nation’s capital to tour a number of the state’s life sciences companies. Tenney toured Curza, Nusano, Scientia Vascular, and BIOS to see first-hand the innovative drugs and technologies these companies are developing to fight anti-microbial resistance, drive optimal stroke treatments, transform medical radioisotope production, and restore natural movement and sensation for people with limb loss.

“Having Maloy’s lead healthcare staff on the ground in Utah is one of the most effective ways to showcase the important work our industry is doing for patients and the healthcare system,” said Denise Bell, vice president for government affairs, who joined Nathan for the visits. “We thank Rep. Maloy and Nathan for their support, and appreciate the companies opening their doors.”

Specific issues discussed included reauthorization of the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant program, attracting capital for startups, and expediting the timeline between FDA authorization and Medicare payment for FDA-designated breakthrough products.
