Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) at the University of Utah is a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center serving the Mountain West region, including Utah, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, and Wyoming. Founded in 1995 by Jon M. Huntsman Sr. and his wife Karen, HCI is dedicated to understanding cancer from its beginnings, using that knowledge to create and improve treatments, relieving the suffering of cancer patients, and providing education about cancer risk, prevention, and care. HCI’s mission is to reduce human suffering through comprehensive support for patients and their families, ensuring no one faces cancer alone.
