February 28, 2023
BioUtah President and CEO, Kelvyn Cullimore, commented on Rare Disease Day held on February 28, 2023.
“Today is Rare Disease Day 2023, a day being recognized in countries around the world. Here in Utah, Gov. Spencer J. Cox has declared February 28, 2023 Rare Disease Day in the state. We are marking this occasion with a Utah Rare Disease Day event this evening at Recursion headquarters in Salt Lake City.
Nearly 350,000 Utahns have a rare disease. The event will unite individuals living with rare diseases, their families, advocates, biotech and healthcare leaders to share their stories and raise awareness about this struggle. BioUtah works closely with the Utah Rare Disease Advisory Council to support and address the challenges of rare disease patients. We honor Utah’s rare disease community on this day, and every day, as we continue to work together to promote medical innovation and advance care and cures.”
