September 30, 2021
Epitel’s second publication, A Wearable Reduced-Channel EEG System for Remote Seizure Monitoring has been accepted for publication in a special edition of Frontiers Neurology – Seizure Forecasting and Detection: Computational Models, Machine Learning, and Translation into Devices.
In this publication we demonstrate:
- Epileptologists are 90% accurate detecting people experiencing seizures with Epitel EEG in the 10-channel REMI montage
- Epitel’s automated seizure detection algorithm is 100% sensitive/70% specific detecting people experiencing seizures
- Algorithm is 90% sensitive detecting discrete seizures (compared to 70-85% sensitivity from individual reviewers using the gold-standard)
