MPO Summit Recap

Medical Product Outsourcing hosts the MPO Summit each year at destinations rich in medical device manufacturing. They held their annual Summit on October 7-8 at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. In doing so, they recognized the significant national role Utah plays in the manufacturing of medical devices. Kelvyn Cullimore, CEO of BioUtah, kicked off the Summit with opening remarks touting the significant growth of the life sciences industry in Utah and the notable companies that operate here.

Several BioUtah members were major sponsors and exhibited at the Summit including ATL Medical, Biomerics, Canyon Labs, GlobalMed Logistix, and Renegade Medical. Nelson Labs not only sponsored but hosted tours for attendees at their Taylorsville facilities. MMT that operates CathTip in St. George was also a sponsor.

In addition to Cullimore, other Utah program participants included: David White, VP Global Procurement, Merit Medical; Danny Szczotka, Site Director, Moog Medical; Annie Fonnesbeck, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Scientia/Medtronic; and Michael Wall, Technical Director, MMT.

With hundreds of attendees from out of state, the Summit presented a unique opportunity to showcase medical device development and manufacturing in Utah. Thanks to MPO for choosing Utah for their Summit!
