Utah’s Life Sciences Community Takes Off at the 2026 Entrepreneur & Investor Summit
March 12, 2026
The 2026 Wilson Sonsini Entrepreneur & Investor Life Sciences Summit (E&I Summit) served as a launchpad for innovation—bringing together Utah’s entrepreneurs, investors, and life sciences leaders to propel new ideas forward. Presented by BioUtah and BYU’s Technology Transfer Office and College of Life Sciences, the Summit took place March 12 at the Hilton Salt Lake City Center.
The event convened a dynamic mix of healthcare and entrepreneurs, industry leaders, investors, students, and academic research institutions for a day of insightful discussions, networking, and collaboration. With more than 500 registrants, the day’s programming featured a lineup of thought leaders who shared timely insights on investment trends, innovation, and the realities of building a life sciences company. Keynote speaker Monica DiCenso of J.P. Morgan shared perspectives on current market conditions and the investment landscape. Also taking the stage was Ann Somers Hogg director of The Clayton Christensen Institute, who offered an engaging dive into strategies for success.
“It was an incredibly successful conference,” said Kelvyn Cullimore, president and CEO of BioUtah. “Summit-goers exchanged ideas, gained valuable insights, and enjoyed networking opportunities that connected Utah’s life sciences innovators with active investors.”
In addition to the main stage programming, the Summit spotlighted emerging innovations through its popular pitch track, sponsored by SPARC Health, where early-stage life sciences companies presented their technologies and business models to investors and industry experts. New this year, expert-led roundtable discussions provided attendees with an interactive forum to explore key topics, including operations, communications, and funding options. Also new this year, was our Student Track sponsored by BioHive where David Bearss, PhD, shared his own personal journey as one of Utah’s leading entepreneurs in drug development.
A special thank you Mike Stark and Laura Bridgwater with BYU, and all our Summit attendees. We appreciate the support of our title sponsor, Wilson Sonsini, and our many generous sponsors and exhibitors who made the Summit possible.
