February 12, 2026

BioUtah, in partnership with the Governor’s Office of Economic Opportunity, held the 2026 Life Sciences Day on the Hill at the Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City on February 9.
Featuring exhibits from over 20 local companies, including medical device, diagnostics, and biotech companies, the event provided an opportunity for innovators to engage directly with state legislators to help them better understand how their technologies improve and save lives.
“The gathering turns the spotlight on our industry for a day of education and impactful conversations with policymakers,” said Kelvyn Cullimore, president and CEO of BioUtah. “As one of the fastest-growing healthcare innovation hubs in the nation, legislators will learn about an array of new technologies that are changing patients’ lives.”
With more than $22B in GDP and more than 1,600 companies employing 180,000 Utahns, Utah’s life sciences industry has become a major force in the state’s economy.
